Quilox Team Leader, Akinlabi Abiola-Peller, says the nightclub is increasing investment in digital infrastructure and talent development to stay ahead in Nigeria’s evolving nightlife industry.

Abiola-Peller disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.

He noted that the initiative includes the expansion of the Quilox Nightlife Institute, a platform designed to train and professionalise the hospitality workforce.

He said the move was in response to growing challenges in the sector, including economic fluctuations, rising operational costs, regulatory demands, and changing consumer preferences.

“Anyone interested in entertainment should approach it with professionalism, creativity, and strong business discipline.

“The goal is to create training and development opportunities that professionalise the nightlife and hospitality workforce in Nigeria.

“We are committed to building a system where staff are not only skilled but also understand the value of consistency and excellence in service delivery,” he said.

Abiola-Peller described the current business climate as demanding, adding that operators in the premium segment must continuously innovate to remain competitive.

According to him, Quilox is integrating advanced technology into its operations to enhance efficiency and customer experience.

“The industry is gradually moving toward more seamless digital payment systems, including integrated billing and faster electronic transactions.

“We have already deployed systems covering reservations, payment processing, and guest management, and we are improving on encrypted data protocols, especially for our high-profile clientele.

“Data security and seamless service are no longer optional; they are critical components of the premium nightlife experience,” he said.

He explained that his academic background in Computer Science from Lagos State University, alongside a Business Management certification from Lagos Business School, had influenced his operational approach.

Abiola-Peller added that his previous experience at Aquila Group provided him with insights into structured management and efficiency, which he now applies in hospitality.

On attracting younger audiences while retaining loyal patrons, he said the club was adopting a balanced strategy.

“The key is creating diverse experiences that appeal to younger audiences while maintaining the premium environment valued by long-standing patrons.

“We are leveraging social media and digital storytelling to shape how our events are experienced both physically and visually.

“Entertainment today is not just about what happens in the venue; it is also about how it translates online and across global platforms,” he said.

He emphasised that the long-term vision for Quilox was to align Nigerian nightlife with global standards through innovation, training, and strategic collaborations.

“The future of entertainment will involve technology-driven experiences, immersive environments, and global collaborations.

“We want to position Nigerian nightlife within that global conversation.

“With the right mix of talent development and technological advancement, we believe the industry can achieve sustainable growth and international relevance,” Abiola-Peller said.
