A Valentine-themed campaign by PalmPay has showcased how digital financial services are shaping how couples plan, fund and experience relationships.

The campaign, tagged #LoveWithPalmPay, featured users sharing personal stories of how seamless digital payments supported their Valentine experiences, ranging from dinners to spontaneous outings.

Findings from the 2025 “Love in the Air” report by SBM Intelligence indicate that despite economic pressures, many Nigerians still budget for Valentine’s Day, with a majority planning to spend between N51,000 and N100,000, while less than five per cent are willing to exceed N500,000.

The report underscores a growing need for financial platforms that enable effective money management through features such as free transfers, expense tracking and easy fund access.

PalmPay said the campaign was designed to demonstrate how its platform enables users to manage finances while celebrating meaningful moments.

According to the company, participation in the campaign was high, with couples across the country submitting entries highlighting how they use the app for payments, planning and everyday transactions.

Four couples were selected from the entries, each illustrating how the platform facilitated fast and reliable payments during important moments.

One of the selected participants, identified as @simply.omotoshan, recounted how PalmPay enabled a seamless experience during a last-minute Valentine picnic.

She said the couple had to quickly purchase items at a mall after forgetting essentials, adding that the payment process was smooth and stress-free.

In another testimonial, a participant, Mohammed, expressed appreciation to PalmPay after he and his wife were selected as winners in the campaign.

He said the N100,000 reward received from the initiative was a welcome support, describing the experience as memorable.

Industry observers note that the campaign reflects a broader shift in the financial technology space, where digital platforms are increasingly focused on enabling user experiences beyond basic transactions.

They say reliable payments and accessible financial tools help reduce financial friction, allowing users to focus more on social connections and shared experiences.

PalmPay reiterated its commitment to supporting users with efficient and reliable financial services, noting that digital banking continues to play a key role in everyday life and relationships.
