The Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group, Dr Umaru Kwairanga, has commended the federal government, on the launch of ‘Happy Woman Digital Platform’, describing it as a transformative initiative for women empowerment in Nigeria.
Kwairanga made the remark during the official launch of the digital platform in Lagos, on Wednesday, noting that the initiative will positively impact the lives of Nigerian women.
He said that as a father, he was particularly passionate about programmes that support women to achieve their rightful place as equal partners in nation building.
Kwairanga, further lauded the digital nature of the Happy Woman Platform, describing it as timely and appealing to young Nigerians who are increasingly reliant on technology.
According to him, it offers advantages such as speed, transparency and efficiency compared to traditional manual systems.
“I am pleased to see that the Happy Woman Digital Platform is an online initiative.
“It is going to be attractive to our youths who are technologically savvy and prefer to do most things on their handsets and digital devices.
“Such a platform is faster, more transparent and efficient than manual systems that depend on human beings and paperwork.
“My advice, however, is that you should ensure that the system is robust and protected from cyber attacks and downtimes.
“I also wish to suggest that it includes local languages component and makes room for training so that it can reach more of our women at the grassroots, especially in the northern part of our country,” he said.
The NGX chairman also expressed support for the social intervention programmes of the administration of President Bola Tinubu, especially those aimed at bringing governance benefits closer to the people.
He noted that initiatives such as the Renewed Hope Social Impact Interventions were designed to improve the lives of ordinary citizens and deepen the impact of government policies.
Kwairanga reaffirmed the commitment of NGX Group to diversity and gender equality, expressing the organisation’s readiness to explore partnership opportunities to support the initiative.
The chairman added that the NGX looked forward to collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to ensure the success of the platform.
Kwairanga commended the Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, for her efforts in advancing women-focused programmes, and wished her continued success.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Happy Woman Digital Platform was created by the ministry and aimed at enhancing women’s access to opportunities and support services through technology-driven solutions.
