A group operating under the auspices of Project Victory Call Initiative, an advocacy response in collaboration with Master Builder Communications says all is set for its annual premiere event, christened, “i-Walk 4 EFCC 2024”.
This move would be done in collaboration with the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria, (CDGN), Muslim Democrats and Apostolic Round Table, among several others
Dr Bolaji Akinyemi, the Convener of the group and Chief Executive Officer of MasterBuilders Communications, who is also the BoT Chairman of Project Victory Call Initiative, disclosed this in a statement, on Tuesday.
He said the planned ‘i-Walk 4 EFCC 2024’ had been slated to hold on Saturday, October 5, 2024
According to him, the group was of the observation that economic and political developments between last October and now have not only vindicated its position, but equally shown all is not well with the country.
He said the group held an optimistic and edifying message of, “Let’s walk and work together for a better and greater Nigeria,”.
According to Akinyemi, “i-Walk was conceived to be an awareness walk to promote values for a better and greater Nigeria.
“Inevitably, beneath the drive for financial crime is the survival from national poverty foisted on us by irresponsible leadership and cultural corruption to which all Nigerians are exposed in one way or the other.
“If good governance is our expectation, then we all must, in the spirit of nation building, join hands together to make Nigeria great for us, our children and unborn generation.
“And we can only do this by confronting economic and financial crime tendencies with economic and financial creativity awareness and empowerment.
“Remember, …Don’t do that, is better neutralised with Do this!”
According to him, the group is a political education incubator aimed at engaging development experts through advocacy and projects initiation.
He maintained, “Project Victory Call Initiative (aka PVC Naija), is a political education and advocacy group, that operates developmental engagement through project initiations.
“We headlined projects such as Community Political Education (CPE); A Night 4 Naija; Community Ambassador for Peaceful Election (CAPE); and Legislative Revolution Network (LRN), which are all up and running.
“The newest addition to our long list of projects is i-Walk and the 2nd edition was tagged i-Walk 4 Good Governance. Event between October last year and now has vindicated us as a group knowing the yearnings and aspirations of the masses.
“The quest for good governance has reached a desperate proportion and it must be pragmatically and proactively attended to, hence the focus of 2024 edition on i-Walk for Economic and Financial Creativity for a greater Country, i-Walk for EFCC for short, which is billed for Saturday, October 5, 2024.
“The activity is conceived to be an awareness ‘walk’ to promote values for a better and greater Nigeria. And, expected to participate in the walk are i-Walkers and all interested patriotic Nigerians.
“i-Walk — Independence Walk is also our deliberate effort to create and raise citizens’ conscious commitment to values that can help build a better and greater nation.
“This annual walk to celebrate the ‘Independence’ of our dear Country every October, started in 2022. Our maiden edition was captioned, “i-Walk No To Vote Buying!
“Its acceptance by Nigerians in major States capitals was remarkable. Little surprise therefore of the success recorded.
“We equally appreciate the noble efforts of the Peace Committee of Rotary Clubs to the success of i-Walk 2022 across the country. It’s worthy of note.
“Other NGO’s, groups and corporate bodies are encouraged to follow the good example of Rotary Clubs and join us to walk and work together at building a country that works for all.
“Our global perspective that has further sunk our brand as a nation of people not ready to make the change, should be assiduously changed internally and externally.” This is our essential reality! “To achieve this, our emphasis on the i-Walk 2024 is, “i-Walk 4 Economic and Financial Creativity for a Greater Country.”
